Sunshine Coast City Hall

Sunshine Coast City Hall will house the Council Chambers, local council administration and additional commercial and retail spaces.

Progress Update: Construction commenced and due for completion in 2022.

$50M Solar Farm

Located at Valdora, the solar farm offsets councils entire electricity consumption – first in Australia!

$347M Sunshine Coast Airport upgrade

The new runway will allow direct flights to more destinations across Australia, Asia and the Western Pacific, enhancing national and global connections. It will also generate jobs and economic growth, boost tourism, help export businesses and secure air access to the Sunshine Coast for generations to come.

$830M Birtinya Town Centre

Across an area of 18 hectares, Stockland plans to develop a subregional retail town centre, a new civic plaza, walkable waterfront along Lake Kawana and open green space - all integrated with commercial, health related research facilities and high density residential.

Progress Update: First stage has been completed which includes $87M Birtinya Shopping Centre.

$33M Stockland Baringa Shopping Centre

The Stockland Group recently developed a $33M shopping centre for the Aura Township development. Covering 24km², the largest planned community in Australia will include a supermarket, 13 specialty retailers, 300 car spaces and commercial offices.

$3B Harmony Estate Development

 

Set over 378ha, Harmony residential estate is set to deliver more than 4,800 homes, 12,000 future residents and 15,250m2 of GFA Town Centre.

$2B proposed Light Rail Project

The Sunshine Coast Light Rail is a proposed light rail system for the Sunshine Coast region of Queensland, Australia. The light rail system will link Maroochydore with Caloundra via Mooloolaba and Kawana. It is expected to contribute $3.6 billion to the economy.

Progress Update: Business/case joint process with Local and State Government by 2021 with expected delivery in 2025.

$1B Bruce Highway upgrade

 

The Bruce Highway Upgrade Program is the largest road infrastructure program Queensland has ever seen. It is aimed at improving safety, flood resilience, and capacity along the length and breadth of the highway between Brisbane and Cairns. The project will see construction of a six-lane divided highway and delivery of major upgrades to the Caloundra Road and Sunshine Motorway interchanges, in one of Queensland’s highest priority road projects.
